In the senior category, the expected outcome happened, Graham Cooke is the senior winner of this tournament and also the regional Order of Merit winner for the senior and super-senior category. Graham Cooke, this brilliant golf architect with both extraordinary achievements, also has an immense talent for the game of golf. Winning numerous amateur and senior titles throughout his career, he managed to get his hands on the Order of Merit with a record of 1222 points among seniors and 1450 points for the super senior division. In all five rounds on this circuit, he had a round of 72 and four rounds of 73. Bravo Graham Cooke.
In the amateur category, Stephen Layne won the title in his 72 round, tied with Guillaume Bélanger, and it was the retrogression that allowed Layne to win the title.
The season is over for the senior and super senior category, the final tournament will be the Montreal Amateur Championship, at the Le Portage Golf Club, on August 27, 2019. Visit the Association’s tournament page for registration details for this tournament. 500 points will be at stake to determine the winner of the Order of Merit. Currently Michel Bonnier and Normand Martel are in the race, but 500 points could allow a dozen players to win the title.
